The Poitou-Charentes region, located in the south west of France is renowned for having one of the most pleasant climates in France . The Futuroscope amusement park is located near Poitiers and set in 130 acres. It uses audio-visual technology to create both stunning and informative special effects. Giant screens, 3D cinemas, circular cinemas and other state-of-the-art techniques create an experience unlike any other.

The park has fantastic buildings with futuristic architecture and also relaxing green parks surround each of the pavilions. Both children and adults will enjoy Futuroscope.

Carcassonne is most often described as a walled Medieval town in the Languedoc region of southwest France. There are, in fact, two Carcassonnes: the famous walled City (cité) and the adjacent town of about 45,000 people.

The modern city is build around two medieval cities, the original hill top Cité of Carcassonne on the north side of the river Aude, and the thirteenth century Bastide of Carcassonne on the South side of the River Aude. The older Cité is a spectacular walled town – the largest medieval town in Europe with its city walls intact.

The Cité of Carcassonne is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the setting for many films featuring medieval castles.  In recent years it has become a major tourist attraction, with all that that entails.
